WOODHUB
Fischer roller blinds provide optimal light and heat control in Denmark's largest wooden office building.
While the new WoodHub office building features window frames designed for integrated solar shading, achieving its ambitious indoor climate goals required more. To bridge the gap, our internal roller blinds were installed to enhance both comfort and efficiency.
“The primary goal was to reduce glare and minimise heat gain, achieved through our technical textile with a reflective backing that repels solar energy. Next, to satisfy DGNB requirements for both glare control and external visibility, a structured fabric was selected, one that softens incoming light without obstructing the view,“
INTELLIGENT SUNSYNC™ CONTROL
From above, WoodHub's figure-eight shape means its two courtyards cast shadows on each other, creating complex and shifting light conditions. The building also houses 1,600 employees with diverse needs and working environments across its six storeys. To address both challenges, the team chose our intelligent Sunsync™ control system.
Peter Christensen, CTO at Fischer, explains: "Sunsync™ allows you to divide the building’s solar shading into an optimal number of control zones, while enabling each tenancy to adapt its own control strategy through a local automation unit.
At WoodHub, the solar shading is divided into approximately 130 zones, ensuring every office has ideal conditions throughout the day, even as the buildings cast shadows on each other. Additionally, users retain the option to operate the roller blinds manually."
In addition to the motorised roller blinds, Fischer soft curtains were supplied for the ground floor, where WoodHub impresses with its varying ceiling heights and spatial design. The curtains bring warmth to the interior and reinforce the vision of an office where materials seamlessly work together in harmony.
